along the milky way your footprints
animal tracks your touch lingers
Got to get this ink of my feet!
Paw prints,
Footprints
imprints of memory!!!
mars black
the map into spring
a paperless trail

in the snow
a mysterious stranger-
a cat
etched in milk the footprints of night
milk moon-
the silence
of your steps
muddy paws–
in my naiveté
I fall among thieves
Tail down ears stand tall
Stalk step by step, backyard hunt
Bird takes flight!! Bye-bye!
spring fever
I scratch the itch
behind his ears
love it!
thanks, Lauren 🙂

across the new driveway
cat’s footprints –
shall outlast us both
wet dog smell of your excuses
outside our tent
raccoons rummage
inside our cooler
morphine drip . . .
he retraces his footprints
in Hawaii
to be specific:
morphine drip . . .
he retraces his footprints
in Waikiki
if this were a trail I’d be on it milky way
Melting snow the tracks sink deeper
daybreak-
fresh footsteps circle
the old garden
ink spilling a backlog of cat tracks
and so he goes
the stone floor cold on his bare toes
whispers in his whiskers
it seems like miles
bear tracks the hidden fruit of paw-paws
ink blot again she cries wolf
But,
he told me to follow in his footsteps!
snow calm –
the tracks to and from
the feathers
clever artist
paints in all the white
round the paw prints
