Mindful Writing 2014 – 10

Driving back from the movie, I consider what a letter to my father would read like.

The closer I get to home, the darker it gets. All clouds and no moon. Still, stretches of snow glow like landing strip markers. Light rain eats through what’s left in the ditches and fields that have started to flood.

Every mental draft arrives at the same place: “I don’t want to see you just yet…”

    because interpretation is part of the process of creation/communication. I can’t shake that.
