Did I mention the doodles would be in color this year?
The concept is simple: Here’s a doodle. Now write a poem to accompany it!

just beyond my
reach this place where
promise disappears
like powder downs soft
and inexplicable
spring breeze out of the hole in the birdhouse
fly away Alice
through the birdhouse door
mirror inside out
first new spring
green showing —
when will the birds
return?
I painted my life
in rose-colored dreams
until one spring morning
you left a song
as broken as my pride
Speechless! This is stunning!!! 🙂 ❤
singing pit
A whole new spring beckons,
Alice
skylark …
the distance between us
a song away
Beautiful!!!
Thank you, Shloka!
Poignant, Asni!
Thanks, Rita!

My project for March – I Doodle, You ‘Ku 2014 with Aubrie Cox at Yay Words! Come over … to read other haiku … or to join in the fun.
bluebirds
truly so blue
trustworthy friends
red dawn silence hanging about the house
a silent nest
waiting for a peep
salt to the fresh wound
Time for a spring clean
Fresh real-estate for blue birds
She waves her wing yes!
I love your sketch.

spring wind…
a white butterfly
follows me home
empty nest —
not quite sure
what I expected
spring leaves unfurl
a Purple Martin
finds a home
bird house —
is it true Charlie Parker
once slept here

Kanzen Sakura
momochidori.
girl in blue waits for baby
birds to fly in spring sky.
same time last year
I hear the early songs
of spring
but the daffodils now burst
with more sunlight
lost wish
down the rabbit hole
and back again
[And also…]
waiting
in prayer …
first leaves
summer’s day…
the laughter of children
from the treehouse
Waiting quietly
to witness the miracle
of new life within.
early spring-
the birdhouse fills
with songs
the first sound
among green leaves
my tiptoe peek
Do you mind if I reblog your prompts when I post my poems on my blog? Or would you prefer I just link to you in the post?
