wise eyes
watch
the unwitting
Barely Spring
night creatures. branch to branch. a silent conversation. in the Spring night. new leaves. a new wind. warm. gentle. sweeping away the silence. a whisper of the color. yet to come. on each maple twig. I exhale. pause. inhaling. this first taste. of Spring. among oak trees. and night creatures.

this gentle Spring wind
among the trees
Silent wings.
You never asked
a question.
we become wiser
from our past mistakes . . .
there are blossoms
to be found even in
barren trees
