we can reach
the morning light
sun winds through willows turning spring gold
the dreamcatcher snares
waiting to catch the dream
Hi Merrill, What a beautiful haiku.
another dream these spider woven strands on my fingers
(I’ve been enjoying many of yours this month, Angie.)
thank you, kris!
gnats through a trellis the moon
a moon beam full of gnats
thorns of roses
the blackness of gnats
on the moon
anyone for a gnat?
a gnat a gnat my woes for a gnat
gnats in and out of my dreams
the doe’s ear twitches
I am ignorant and live a sheltered life! I wondered why everyone mentioned dream catcher, ha, and Googled it. I dumb, so here, finally, is my dream catcher version:
You’ve guessed it…
above a Sioux bed the dream catcher’s web of gnats
only in my dreams I catch
a vision of you
moonlight sieving flour finer and finer
beading her dreams . . .
the feathers are fake, she says
into a circle
tattered dreams the bitter notes trickle in all the same
the hike by night
she wakens at dawn
to feathered light
[…] haiku is in response the doodle on Aubrie Cox’s Yay Words blog, Day #13. Like this:LikeBe the first to like this […]
middle of the night
you quietly slip
under our covers
for better dreams
she asks me quietly
how I like my eggs
in the dream a spider
weaves a moon
as we talk of dreams
